Dear Classes of 1969 and 1974:
This is a Deacon Alert to inform you of the passing of Margaret "Peggy" Jalbert on Monday, Oct. 24th.
Peggy was the mother of Joy (Jalbert) Lucido ('69), Randi (Jalbert) Caulfield, Karen (Jalbert) Hestbeck, Teri (Jalbert) Streckroat, Joni (Jalbert) Bosch and the late James Jalbert and Kim Jalbert ('74).
Margaret (Peggy) Jalbert went to her heavenly Father on October 24th 2016. She was born on April 23, 1930 to Christopher and Vivian (Fragapane) Abruzzo in Brooklyn, New York.
As a child, she would spend hours with her grandmother (Angelina (Marchetta) Fragapane) who would teach her how to prepare Italian meals, a tradition she passed on to her children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter Bella.
While enjoying life in New York, a young Merchant Marine named Fred William Jalbert swept her off her feet and they were married on April 2, 1949. Fred managed to convince Margaret to move to Fargo, North Dakota, where she remained until her death.
While living in New York, she worked as a seamstress and enjoyed designing and making hats. Margaret also enjoyed a career at Job Service of North Dakota and retired after over 20 years of service. In retirement, she enjoyed making porcelain dolls, cooking Italian meals, and spending time at the lake cabin.
Margaret is survived by her daughters: Joy Lucido, Salinas, CA; Randi Caulfield, Fargo, ND; Karen (Dennis) Hestbeck, Fargo, ND; Teri (Bob) Streckroat, Fargo, ND; Joni Bosch, Fargo, ND; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Margaret was preceded in death by her son James (Duke) Jalbert, daughter Kim Jalbert (Maul), grandson Jeremy Hestbeck, and friend Don Johnson.
Margaret’s family would like to thank the staff at Bethany on 42nd and hospice for helping their mother live her life with dignity.
